Rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pipes are made by mixing polyvinyl chloride resin with necessary stabilizers, lubricants, colorants, and other auxiliary materials and then processing them. They are the earliest developed and applied plastic pipes. With years of processing and usage experience, PVC-U pipes have standardized production and processing technologies, complete supporting facilities, and are economically environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Currently, they have become the most dominant product among plastic pipes.
Product characteristics of PVC pipes:
1. Lightweight, easy to handle and load/unload: PVC pipe is lightweight, with a specific gravity only 1/5 of that of iron pipes. It is easy to handle, load/unload, and install, facilitating construction and saving labor.
2. Excellent chemical resistance: PVC pipes exhibit excellent acid resistance, alkali resistance, and corrosion resistance, making them highly suitable for use in the chemical industry.
3. Low fluid resistance: The PVC pipe wall is smooth, resulting in low fluid resistance. Its roughness coefficient is only 0.009, which is lower than that of other pipes. Under the same flow rate, the pipe diameter can be reduced by 1-2 grades.
4. High mechanical strength: PVC pipes exhibit excellent water pressure resistance, external pressure resistance, and impact resistance, making them suitable for piping projects under various conditions.
5. Excellent electrical insulation: PVC pipes have excellent electrical insulation properties, making them suitable for use as conduits for wires and cables, as well as for wire routing in buildings.
6. No impact on water quality: PVC pipes have been confirmed by dissolution experiments to have no impact on water quality, making them an excellent choice for water distribution piping.
7. Easy construction: PVC flexible sleeves can be directly connected by means of a socket, and flat bell pipes can be bonded with adhesive. The construction is quick and easy, resulting in low construction costs.
